Group Mentoring
WHO IS GROUP MENTORING FOR?
Group mentoring is for people who want to explore a shared theme or area of interest with others and learn through conversation, reflection and different perspectives.
You may be interested in a particular aspect of personal development, facing questions that others may also be exploring or simply want to think about an important topic in a supportive group setting.
You do not need to have a specific personal problem to bring to the group. The value comes from exploring the theme together, hearing how others think about it and discovering perspectives that may help you see your own situation differently.
WHAT HAPPENS IN GROUP MENTORING?
Group mentoring is built around a shared theme or area of interest.
We explore the topic together through conversation, questions, reflection and different perspectives. You may hear ideas or experiences that you would not have considered on your own.
I guide the conversation, introduce perspectives and, where useful, draw on relevant experience or examples. The focus is on learning together rather than finding one right answer.
THE VALUE OF DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES
One of the strengths of group mentoring is the opportunity to see a topic through different eyes.
Someone else's question, experience or way of thinking may open a perspective you had not considered yourself.
You may recognise something in another person's situation, discover a new way of looking at your own or simply leave with a thought that stays with you.
The value of the group is not in finding one right answer. It is in what you discover through the conversation and what you take away from it.
WHEN GROUP MENTORING LEADS TO SOMETHING MORE PERSONAL
Sometimes a shared conversation raises questions that are more personal to you.
You may find yourself wanting to explore a particular situation, decision or question in greater depth.
If that happens, individual mentoring can provide a private space to focus on your own situation and explore what matters to you more deeply.
Moving from group mentoring to individual mentoring is not a requirement. It is simply another way of continuing your thinking when that feels useful to you.
